Thanks for covering everything! Shocking I passed with a BOM result but as you write, it was intimidating. I chose to take it in Madrid and the testing center was phenomenal – highly recommend. They had 95 CIPLE applicants and only 3 of their 6 listed instructors so classrooms for the written part were split into thirds. Then they doubled up my verbal exam part and we only had five minutes for four of us to “show off” their skills which intimidated all of us. The instructors accent was very difficult for all of us to understand and she wouldn’t repeat anything. We sat in a row too which made it awkward for four of us, but easier for them to film us. Once results were posted, when I clicked print to see results broken down into categories the site doesn’t allow printing – bummer since I’m curious. I took private lessons for nine months twice a week, studied 3 months and took a CIPLE prep class but was still overwhelmed. As you say, don’t underestimate the need to practice listening and speaking.
